The Alliance is currently spearheading two community based agricultural related projects that will impact on the small scale farmers. These are the Ghana Rural Food Banking Project and the newly planned Breadfruit Revolution project in West Africa.
With respect to the Food Banking Project, the Alliance is closely working with a sister organisation the Ghana Food Aid Network and with the international support of the Global Food Banking Network in the United States Of America. Three communities have so far been earmarked for this project, which include Kwaebibirim, Fanteakwa and Nsawam Districts.
The breadfruit Project will be ran in partnership with Global Breadfruit Institute and the Breadfruit Center in the US with the aim of accelerating the revolution of breadfruit as a potential and a viable crop that will improve the West African food security and vegetation. The pilot project would be commisioned in Ghana and Sierra Leone. |
